Need to know oil mix to my 1972 Evinrude 85hp

I need to know what is the mix oil to gas for this 1972 Evinrude 85hp also what kind of gear oil do i use also one other thing i have some dark oil dripping out by propeller smells like there is gas mixed with it anything to worry about or fix Thank you

50:1 Gasil<br /><br />Check the gear oil...see if it matches the stuff draing out.<br /><br />If Electric shift...use Premium blend<br /><br />if none electric..use HiVis...or 80/90 EP<br /><br />TMD

gear oil looks just like oil should, also have another question my 7yr daughter unsrewer the throttle tension srew what should i dew

If you refer to the one in the control box...and if its totally removed..you may be able to reseat it..If not you will have to take the control box apart and reseat it.<br /><br />On the other hand...I am not 100% sure you need it anyway.<br /><br />TMD

It does screw back in but don't know how to set it back up [Tension] also do i have anything to worry about that black oil gas smellen stuff coming out by my propeller

Take your engine out and Decarb it...runs some carb cleaner through it...should take care of the black stuff.<br /><br />As for Tension...make it how you will like it.<br /><br />TMD
