I have a 85 horse merc i found a 21 pitch prop for sale it ran on a 150 and 200 horse merc will that work on an 85 horse

NO.Different numbers, about 1" difference in diameter.

Ayuh,.... Your motor has a 4" gear case,+ uses a mid-sized prop body...
The Large outboards have a 4. 1/2" gear case,+ run the same props as the outdrives...
The Large gear case props will fit on your prop shaft, but hit on the gear case,...No Good...
