Need to mount outboard 5" higher

[10 FOOT INVADER]

My problem is that I have a 2003 merc 25hp long shaft that needs to fit on a 10 foot gw invader. Transom height is around 17". The transom at the top is 17" wide but tapers down to 10" at the bottom for the motor. The mini jacker is 17" wide. Can I cut the lower portion of the mini jacker off? Also I looked at the hi jacker Looks like it could be bolted with the 2 parts together than use a spacer at the top to mount the out board clamps and then bolt the bottom. Any ideas? With the plate a bout 5" below the bottom of the boat she will hit about 20-25mph but the rpms will only hit around 4200. The motor does run very well at that rpm just eats a lot of fuel. Thanks

i think you are going to have to modify one of them or find some 3" aluminum angle and make your own, one piece bolt to the transom on each side, then bolt the other to the angle, and laminate 2 layers of 3/4 ply for mounting block. they could even be on an angle see you have the tapered transom. your adjustment would be in the mounting block, as the angles will not move up or down.

A 25HP motor can be considered a kicker on larger boats. You may be able to find a fixed auxilary motor mount, which is normally bolted to the transom to mount the aux motor. Perhaps it could be bolted to you 10 footer to raise the motor up enough. Failing that, a conventional jack plate or a lift-type aux motor mount could be used.

Tashasdaddy. Went web surfing today and found a site called cooks manufacturing corporation. They have several mounts that may work. Also on the site is a product called a 5"verticle lift. Do you think one of these would work? If not please help me to understand your mount idea more. For some reason I cannot picture it in my head. Thanks Robert.

are you talking about the one on the bottom of the page. if so why buy it, just mount aluminum angle and bolt the mounting block to it. i usually recommend using the angle inside and out on each side of the motor. with the extention block of wood sandwiched between the angles.
