Need to move a Bass Boat

Hello All,<br />I am relocating to Houston Texas from Southeast Michigan. I was going to sell my 19' 1991 BassCat (on a trailer), until I heard that some of the best bass fishing in the country is in Texas.<br /><br />Anyway, I need to find a company that will take the boat down there for me. I have a Jeep, but it has over 110,000 miles on it and I don't know if it will make it 1500 miles towing that thing. Plus it turns a nice relaxing trip into a stressfull, 9 mpg, no overdrive, slow one. Please let me know what you think.<br /><br />Thanks.<br /><br />Aaron

Well, first off what kind of Jeep. If it's a Cherokee, don't worry about it. I tow a 3600# boat all the time with mine. As for overdrive, you can't tow in OD anyway.

I know I can pull it, it is just the fact that I don't want to. We are leaving here Sunday (6/8), but I can move the boat anytime before the house up here sells.

Contact about any frieght company and I believe they will tell you about $1500 or you could do the slow 9mpg thing.

or you could just pull it halfway to my house and leave it :) and I'll pay you the price you spent in gas to get my new boat to me :D

why not tow boat with u-haul truck..get one witha desiel and you want know any difference in milage.... and have someone drive the jeep...

thanks for the ideas guys. I am going to end up leaving it here and a buddy is going to pull it down with his 3/4 ton when he comes to visit. The biggest problem with it was that it is so wide, it will not fit in the truck with the other things.<br /><br />thanks again.<br /><br />Aaron
