Need to paint inside of hull. Is Rustolium a good choice?

Think Rustolium will hold up on the inside of the hull on my little fiberglass runabout? Won't get much use or sit in full sun for long.

I don't want to spend a lot of $$$ on the exterior epoxy hull paints if I don't need their properties for an interior paint job. Plus, I probably will use less than a quart. Was thinking of using Rustolium or an oil base exterior house paint and rolling it on with a 3" roller.

Any suggestions? Is this a serious mistake?

Thanks,
Mark

rustoleum makes one keene marine paint for just your purpose.... its for ABOVE the waterline, and it is polyurethane based, so its REAL durable.

you can get it at most any hardware or paint store, such as home depot or l;owes or ace or whatever.

crab bait, another well know user on these boards swears by it, and i painted the interior of my 12 foot sail boat with it , and exterior too, whole thing. holds up great !!! turns out real smooth.

one note, it gets real slipperry when wet, as ANY polyeruthane will

Being captain frugal that I am, I used Polyurethane paint that I got from my local hardware store for $22 a gallon. I got it mixed as close to my hull color as possible, and painted my entire interior with it. I only went that route because I had fifty different colors going, and wanted it all to match. If you can somehow remove a piece of the areas you are painting, they can get an exact match with their paint matching thingy. I only used maybe a half a gallon total. Roll and tip it or you'll get "curtains", sags, and litle dried bubbles. It is very durable, and has not faded at all. Good luck...

There are non skid addatives for the polyuathane stuff. You spinkle it in the wet paint then wen dried you sweep off and paint it again.

I painted the inside of my FG Rowboat/Fishing boat with gray rustoleum a few years ago. Still looks great, it's a bit slick though, I have to fish barefoot for extra traction. Cost me ten bucks and a Saturday morning.

I painted the interior lockers on my '78 Chris Craft with Rustoleum a couple of years ago. They are holding up fine.
