I have a 2000 Triton SF18. Passenger seat pulled away from the deck. I was surprised at how it was fastened -- 5 lag screws with fender washers driven through the seat base into a "deck box"? that is fiberglassed continuous with the deck. It appears to be the height of a 2X4. Only the front screws pulled out (i.e. stripped the holes)
I would like to put the seat on a swivel to make it more comfortable to watch water skiers.
I have not found access to the bottom of the "box" for using bolts. I am thinking of getting a Springfield locking swivel and lag screw it back to the box. It would use different holes. I hate to use lag screws, would heavy duty mollies be a better option? Is there another option?
Thanks,
Dave
