Hi, after owning a Capri 160 for 4 years my bilge froze up. I had a mechanic come out, take the part and then....quote me for $$$A-Lot to get the little bugger installed. So I'd like to go about it myself!

Problem is the owner's manual doesn't have an installation diagram, and with the old one removed, I'm not sure if I'll get this new one in the right location. Also, wiring is another unknown for me.

Question...are there any diagrams I can find online? Also, a detailed maintenance guide would be great (somwhat akin to what you'll find for cars at you local Discount store). I called a local Bayliner dealer and the lady almost told me to f**k off when I requested this.

Much thanks from this very very clumsy boatowner. :)

Most if not all boats don't come with a owner's guide, just one for the motor.
Bildge pumps. They come in difference sizes(gph). For a 16' boat, you should be able to get away with a 500 to 750 gph pump. Now,you didn't say if you leave the boat in the water all the time or over night. If and any of the last statement, you should have two pumps with one of them with a auto switch.
Placement, were is the thru hull and hose?Find that, that is were the pump should be at.
Wiring one up.The pumps come with two wires, one hot which in most cases is brown, the other is black. The black wire is your ground. That should be wired to all your ground wires which should be to your neg side of your battery. Now,the brown which is the pos side. The way it is wired is,a wire comes from a fuse bank,to one side of a switch, out the other side of the switch, then to the pump.As you turn on the pump, the switch is closed, get the picture?
