Need water tube from pump to motor.

I was working on my 82 9.8E Mercury LS. When I removed the lower unit to replace the impeller I found that the tube from the water pump to the motor is missing. Where can I find a replacement?

Are you sure it's not there ? The motor will not last 5 minutes with no tube. It is a very thin diameter pipe that runs next to the drive shaft and will detach from the water pump but stay in the leg when the L/U is removed. Does it run ?

I'm not asking if you believe it's gone. It's not there, period. I'm trying to locate a replacement.

Can I just make one with a piece of soft roll copper tubing? Looks like 3/8" maybe.

How did you end up with an assembled motor with no tube ?<br />You couldn't have tested it, as it would have no water flow. <br />I think that is why we are asking the question.. Are you sure it's not there ? I purchased the motor a month ago, fired it up in a tank before purchase and thought maybe just needed an impeller. When I started re-assembling is when I noticed it wasn't there. Maybe the previous owner lost, damaged or who knows what with it. I was finally able to make a replacement with copper tubing, fits snug so should be OK.
