Need windshield bumper/keeper/strap

Guys,

Just bought a new(leftover) Starcraft 1800 bow rider. The flip-open center windshield has no rubber bump-stop or keeper strap to secure it in the open position. Currently if you were to flip open the center section, the corner of the windshield will rest on gelcoat(not cool).

On my seadoo jet boat it had a cool rubber bumper with rubber strap that would catch on to a post and hold the panel solid and protect the boat.

I've searched the net and am having trouble finding a similar product. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance.

I can't say I've ever owned a boat that had any sort of method to hold the windshield open, but most had some sort of rubber bumper to pad it when open.
If the boat manufacturer didn't install one, then you most likely going to have to come up with something yourself.
I'd look at something like this:

Such bumpers are generally a hardware store item.

In rough seas, the windshield is generally closed but when I open mine I often slip a length of pipe insulation or one of those kiddie float noodles over the edge of the open glass or the metal frame. Both to protect the glass and to make it a safer pass through as the aluminum edges on mine are a bit sharp.

My boat has rubber bumpers to keep it from damaging anything when it is flipped open, and a strap with a snap to keep it from bouncing around. Check iboats store. Search for "windshield bumper" or someting like that.
