Need year and HP

It's a 1946-1950 2.5 hp Johnson.That's as close as I can narrow it down.Not positive on the plugs ,but many earlier model small hp engines took the J6C Champion.What plug is in it now?

Hi all, I am looking to rebuild my grandfathers old engine. He cant remember the year and hp. He thinks it is a 2h.p? <br /><br />Can you guys let me know what it is and also what plugs it takes,<br /><br />SER: 83842<br /><br />MOD: HD-25<br /><br />Cheers,<br /><br />Dave

Champion J6C is the right plug, Stage 3.<br /><br />Be sure to use a 24:1 fuel mix, with 87 octane regular gas and TC-W3 outboard oil.<br /><br />Good luck.
