#3 pic. Wires just sitting in back of engine.
#2 pic. Manual doesn't say what they are, (goes to trim in the stern drive?)
#1 (disconnected) Blue & Purple wires also lead into stern drive, The wires are fastened to the side engine comp. on the port side where the battery & Tilt pump are.
#4 question there are wires coming out of the stern drive with the same male & female connection, but have never been connected sinse we have owned her.
I do have a trim button & tilt button to raise and lower the stern drive and both seem to be working. Are they extra wires??

Does your trim gauge work? that could be those wires.

I would say yes, because after I get the stern set at plain I also hit the trim to really smooth her out and she rides on the water just as smooth as glass, like I wasn't even in the water and I don't even feel the wake from other boats, I just fly over the top like they weren't even there. If I hit the (fore)trim button too much rpms bog so i just hit the reverse trim(aft) till she is smooth again. so I would have to say yes. there are 4 wires that aren't connected going into the stern drive(same connectors) Didn't know if they were extra?? or last owner bypassed something, I looked closer at the wires coming from the engine and looks as if the wires going int the stern drive were sheared by the steering system(just guessing)

I don't have a trim gauge Coors, heard of every one els having one, This model doesn't have one I guess:) But your right it could be for that couldn't it, the engine and alpha 1 is used in other models that probably does use a trim gauge. GOOD POINT, THANKS!!
