NEEDED !!: Mercruiser 3.0 Engine

i have a 1985 forester phantom sport 180

i had a little problem of a stern line break and the the boat swung on the bow line and flowed up on the shore then by some freak nature popped the drain plug out and she went down in about 2 ft of water... enough somehow to get in the engine and turn the oil and milkshake color.... and the exhaust manny crack too.. anyway any tips about saving a engine?? would be great help....

PLUS anyone with a used merc 3.0 4 cyc, would be GREAT!!!!

Change the oil and filter and run it. Have the starter rebuilt, the alternator if it submerged and distributor too. New battery! But I don't know why you would get manifold cracks from water in the boat.

thanks lol i have done that.. but never got it to start again.... just turns over and over.... so i think i might have got water in the distributor..... that cracked manny was wierd... i wasnt around to winterize it the best way.. i was at college.. and i came home and drained the water... but guess for got some and theres about a 6in crack lol
