I have an 89' Johnson 110 and one of the carbs is pouring fuel. I have the rebuild kit and am going to start on it tonight. When I install the new needle and seat what kind of adjustments do I need to make? And any suggestions on how to make this process go smooth, it's my first rebuild.

With the carb inverted, the float should be parrell with the body. In its normal position you should have 1+or- 1/8 " from the tip of the float to the bowl. You do this by bending the float arm and the tab on the back of it.

As far as I know, doesn't the needle sit very closely to closing off fuel from the bowl at idle? How close should the needle and seat be?

You don't adjust the needle/seat, you adjust the float to be parallel to the carb body.

The float level has to be proper to keep it from flooding and the float drop lets fuel into the bowl when running. Maybe somebody else can explain it better.

I bought an OEM johnson/evinrude rebuilt kit, there is a lot of o rings but I dont see where these go...? Is the extent of the re build to replaced the gaskets and clean the carb?
