Filled the boat yesterday, some gas came back out filler and was a neon yellow color. It almost stains the swim platform it's so yellow. It runs fine and I use stabil every tank. I also have a fuel water filter. What would make the gas coming back out that color?

I use stabil every tank and have never seen anything like that.

Check with where you get the gas, they may have something in it.

Mix a small amount of gas and your stabilizer in a clear container and see what color it is.

fyi......there is NOTHING in a boats fuel system or other system in the boat that is any where neon yellow

the closest color would be anti freeze......that would mean you have a closed cooling system, leaking water/anti freeze in to the gas tank.
and the chances of that are as likely as a high school football team winning the super bowl.

1) how long have you owned the boat?
2) are you sure that is a gas filler opening you are pouring gas into?
3) did someone else add something to service the boat other than you?
4) Neon yellow or fluorescent yellow (such as anti-freeze)?

Forget to add: Some water remover additives are yellow as are some other fuel treatments. Did you or someone else add a crapload of it to cover and/or fix a water problem?

Re: Neon yellow gas overflows when filling?

Ill try to reply to every at once...

I will have to mix stabil and gas together and see what color i get, one thought was it was build up in the fuel tank breaking down

Yes im sure im putting gas where gas goes lol, its sad that it is even a question since people put gas anywhere apparently

I have owned the boat for over a year and put over 75 hours on it. It is raw water cooled, no antifreeze so thats easily ruled out.

not using any water remover additive, just marine stabil. and i only add the correct amount. the stabil i use is green. never had a water problem that im aware of.

Sounds like it might just be the stabil mixing with my royal farms gas?
