2000 Maxum 2100SR, Quicksilver controls, having trouble intermittently with a no crank situation. Have narrowed it down to the key switch or neutral safety switch but leaning toward neutral switch.

How hard is it to access the switch and does the control have to come apart and/or off the boat completely?

Which one of the hundreds of Quicksilver model controls do you have?

In most cases, it does need to come apart, but depends on which model you have.

Hook up a bypass switch, so when kits actin up, flip the switch, then if it goes away you have the issue.

If you hear a clicking in the engine compartment when trying to crank the motor but it doesnt turn over, it is more than likely the slave solenoid for the starter.

Its very random, maybe once an outing that it happens and when it does its a no crank, no click situation. Talked to a local mechanic and verified what was said here that the control has to come apart. For the time being we are going to use a remote starter switch to jump the slave solenoid if need be. At the end of the season will dig in deeper.
