This is my prob.
92 john fastrike 175 v6

It drops power exact at 4800 rpm. Im turn it back to idle and it works perfect up to 4800 again.
When it have drop the power it kicks up and down with short rpm peaks trying to get power again.

Now my marina guys have tried the boat on the lake and tracked down the prob.

They say if they disconnect the electri neutral switch on the side of the engine the engine will run perfect without any problem.
But then they cant shut down the engine with the key (it just drop a little rpm's when they do that)

But they are no rude or john experts so they say they have to get someone the knows more about the system.

I know this is the place to find the experts.
Anyone knows what can cause this, is it the switch itselfs or can it be a combination of several faults?

The little switch on the side of the engine, connected to the shift linkage is not a neutral switch. The switch is a shift switch and may be shorted or the wires shorted. Check the coils for arcing to metal plate between the power pack and the coil. The plate will have a burnt spot on it.
