So I’m boat shopping again - always looking for the next project. Found this nice old mako with a Yamaha 200 “precision blend” (sorry didn’t get the model number)

runs, idles. Smokes a lot. Talked to them about the engine - touched base with their mechanic and check this out. I’ve never seen it before!

now obviously I have some concerns, but the damn thing still runs with this issue. I’m thinking new head and exhaust cover and it might be just fine - at least short term. Anyone ever seen this?

I have seen corrosion damage on some Yamaha motors.-----I believe their materials are good but not as good as some domestic products.------But I was given a newish V-6 lower unit off an Evinrude to salvage what I can out of it.-----Looked at the fracture on the skeg and said.----" junk aluminum " they don't make them like they used to.

If the price is right then roll the dice!.... But there may be more corrosion surprises internally!

All things considered - solid mako 19 - DA aluminum trailer and a 200hp listed at $3500 - I’m thinking high 2’s
