After months of reading and going back and forth on what to do I ordered a new 20HP Tohatsu for my 14' aluminum boat. It's probably the most expensive thing I've ever bought other than a house and car so I'm kind of freaked out about it. I live in Maine and all of our lakes and ponds are still locked up in ice but I can't wait to get out there and try it out.

You won't be disappointed, I have an 18 Tohatsu on the back of my 14 footer and it is a great motor, gets me where I want to go, is not loud and it is very easy to start, good on gas, what more is there to like!

That's good to hear. When I bought the boat it came with an 25hp Johnson 1985 model 2 stroke. I couldn't believe how loud it was, the amount of gas it used and the oil residue left in the water. I didn't even want to use the boat every time i saw a family of loons swimming through my oil slick. I am hoping this one is much cleaner and quieter.
