Hello to all. This is a wonderful resource! I just purchased my first boat and want to get it in the water this weekend. I will pick up the boat tomorrow. I have ordered manuals and searched this site, but I need to know some basics quick if possible.<br />1985 Crestliner Nordic C185<br />Merc 470 (170hp) I/O:<br />What oil filter do I buy (NAPA)?<br />What oil weight?<br />What spark plug?<br />How much oil does the lower unit require to fill?<br /><br />Many thanks to all!

NAPA will have a listing for the spark plugs and oil filter. Use 30 weight oil. The lower unit usually takes 1 quart of lower unit oil (get the mercruiser oil).<br /><br />New boat? I would research out the impellar first thing. Watch your running temp and watch out for overheating. The impellar is critical.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats!<br /><br />Bob
