What is the consensus on break-in for new outboards...easy break in or drive it like ya hate it type of break in?
I have a new boat coming (Merc 60 4 stroke efi) and I am curious what most have done. I typically break in my dirt bikes after a new top end by warming it up good and making several high gear, low speed pulls to seat the rings (puts more load on the rings). Than let her cool down and ride it like ya stole it. Never have any issues.
I know an outboard is different but a motor is a motor. What have you guys done or what do you recommend?
