New aluminum exhaust manifolds gaskets, what ones to use?

I just got my new hge manifold and risers, my question is it come with 3 diffrent gasket for the riser and monifold. What is the diffrence 1 is solid the other has 2 long hole and 2 small holes and the last one has 4 long holes. What ones do I use? also it comes with 4 red bottle of anaerobic adhesive h7204 what is this for?

If you are raw water cooled, then use the ones with 2 long slots (placed on manifolds with slots port to stbd and holes fore and aft).

Don't know about the glue. I use the graphite gaskets that don't use any glue or sealer.

If you are a closed cooling system, then you use the solid between the riser and manifold to isolate raw water from coolant, but I would get the S/S plate to sandwich between 2 gaskets to seperate the the 2. Gasket just aint near as strong as a plate.

I used the ones with the four long holes. My engine uses the lake water to cool.. I hope they are the right ones.. Any body know about the glue??

Ayuh,... You haven't told Us what motor or drive, or vintage....

Odds are reasonably tall that you need the restricted slots...
It depends on the T-stat housing used...
Which gasket style was used on the old manifolds,..??

Hey JrTurbo, how are those HGE manifolds? I have looked at them for my Wellcraft 210. They gotta be a hell of alot lighter than the cast ones.....do they provide better flow too, like a header of sorts?

Well... that only helps if that is his style of manifold, etc. For instance, this page details using a different gasket. It depends upon his setup.

it is a 5.7 alpha1. I used the ones with the 4 long holes. what will this do?
