I'm planning a Baron 2150 order and am looking for help with its configuration.

Using their website's new boat builder function, I came up with the following options. I have not yet involved a dealer; all of the prices are from their boat builder, which likely means they are MSRP.

OPTIONS I'M SURE ABOUT:
4 Bank Pro Series Onboard Charger $790.00
Bow Bolster Set - Gray $315.00
Bow Cushion Set - Gray $575.00
Complete Canvas Upgrade - Gray $2,090.00
Smartcraft Upgrade Verado Gray $890.00

OPTIONS I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT:

Seat Questions:

* What is the difference between the Captains Chairs/Pro Ride and regular Captains Chairs? If the Pro Ride is an upgrade of some sort, why is the MSRP $315 cheaper to go with the pro rides? Does the non-pro ride assume airride? Can someone shed some light on this subject?

* Is the Airride Pedestal Upgrade $225 MSRP per chair, or does that upgrade apply to all of the included seats (one chair already comes standard with Airride)?
Airride Pedestal Upgrade $225.00
Stbd & Port Captains Chair/Pro Ride Gray $1,200.00
Stbd & Port Captains Chairs Gray $1,515.00

Boarding Platform:

* Is the boarding platform the only available option to acquire a ladder on the Baron? If so, does anyone know its dimensions, and if it interferes with hanging a downrigger off the rear of the boat?
Boarding Platform $915.00

* Is the cockpit cover a snap-on cover that covers everything rear of the windshield except the motor? Is one included in the full canvas upgrade, or is this a separate item?
Cockpit Cover Gray $800.00

* Is the snap-in carpet the way to go? I plan on using the boat for both fishing and leisure, and it would be nice to be able to pull the carpet out for a fishing trip. How big of a pain is this, and should I get a complete vinyl floor, or just the main floor?
Complete Vinyl Floor - Ash $0.00
Snap In Carpet Ash with Top Hider $510.00

* Should I go with the 300HP or 250HP Verado? I'm not interested in the few extra MPH gained out of the 300, I'm more interested in knowing if I will save fuel at lower speeds with the larger displacement? Are there semi-accurate fuel burn charts available for both of these motors?

* Is a 15HP kicker motor large enough to push this wind kite around?

* Does the stowed full canvas get in the way while fishing? It's not hidden very well compared to the 1850/1950, which is slightly concerning. I'm not worried about tripping on it; more worried about people accidentally stepping on it.

* Outside of electronics, is there anything else I should include in my planning?

I'm open to comments and suggestions, and would really appreciate any help / advice.

Re: New Baron 2150 Build/Order - Lots of questions

Don't know where you're located but a local dealer here in Minneapolis has that boat sitting on it's show room floor with the options you were wondering about. It's got a 300 Verado and 15 PK also. I bought my last Explorer from them. Sales guy sat down with me for about 2 hours looking up options/prices and such when I was thinking about ordering a new ProV. Probably going to be your best bet since MSRP pricing is kinda high from what they charge occasionally. Lund's website and Magalog isn't very specific on options. Wish they did a better job in that category.
