Hello all. Been lurking the last few months on here, and now I am the proud owner of my first boat. A 1996 Bayliner Capri 1700LS. Great info on here! Boats been sitting two years. Drained the tank, refilled. Charged the battery and fired right off. Compression from top down is 140, 150, 155, and 150. No water out the pee hole w/ muffs. Not sure if normal but will be putting on a new impeller before launching.

I would also change the fuel pump diaphragm with the impeller. Both of those items are show stoppers if they fail. They're pretty cheap and easy to do.

Be aware that muffs have to be adjusted just right and with adequate water pressure to flow enough water through the motor. Not uncommon to get inadequate water flow with muffs.

Comp a little low on top cylinder.
Try, Mercurys Power Tune or another decarb.

Thanks, I noticed that it was spitting alittle water w/ more pressure on the muffs. And I added a fuel additive from the local Mercury dealer. I forgot to mention it is a 120 hp Force. Is the decarb procedure more than a fuel additive or are you recommending something more?

Yes, a decarb proceedure is more. See sticky above. Might try it if the comp doesn't come up.edit: Sorry it's not above. Somewhere on this site is a decarb sticky.
