new Bigfoot wiring diagram ?

I just got my 25HP BigFoot power Tilt/trim. It came with a 6 gal gas tank that has an electrical connector on it.<br /><br />I also bought the Merc throttle/shift control. It has an electrical cable on it with a plug connector & several wire for some connections.<br /><br />Are any of the wires for the gas tank? Tach?<br /><br />Does the 25HP Bigfoot have any sensors/senders for connections? such as oil press, temperature, RPM,?????<br /><br />The owners manual, & instruction manuals are very sparse in info.<br /><br />Is there a wiring diagram available for it?<br /><br />I tried one of those off brand manuals for the old Merc I have & it was always close, but never correct for any repair I needed.<br /><br />I tried the Merc website & it indicated that my engine serial number did not exist.<br /><br />Thanks

I think the color coding for wiring on Merc controls are all pretty much the same. If not some one can correct me. Extra wires could be:<br />Gray-Tach lead: Brown/White-Trim indicator gauge; Purple/White-Trim limit switch connector; and Blue/White with Green/White go into Trim harness connector. No gas tank lead.

Thanks for the reply.<br /><br />Do you know if there is a site that lists the sensors that are on various BigFoot models.<br />I can find nothing about sensors/senders at the Merc site.<br /><br />Like does the 25HP model have Tach, Temp, Press, or other sensors pre-wired & ready for a gauge to connect to the wiring harness ?<br /><br />The sales people do not know & the techs are too busy to answer buyers questions.<br /><br />Thanks again,<br /><br />Red

Finally got a response from Merc after phone calls & emails.<br /><br />My serial number is good. The new motors for 2005 will start with "1" not "0".<br /><br />They will update the website to accept the new serial numbers. <br /><br />They are "considering" an 800 number for customers to use for calls after spending several thousand dollars on mercury products.<br /><br /><br />They said the bigfoot motor came with temp, tach, & oil pressure sensors that would connect into the Throttle/shifter control cable. It did not have a tilt sensor, just a stop bar.<br /><br />I also purchased a service manual from them for the 2004 model, only minor changes for 2005 models, it has electrical diagrams.<br /><br />Thanks for the help.

The new Merc Manual does not match the wiring coming out of the motor. It does not show any of the Merc 4000 remote control wiring.<br /><br />I have contacted the dealer where I purchased the new motor & remote control 4000 & have not been able to get an answer. Merc does not see fit to have a 800 phone number & I do not have long distance.<br />Merc does not answer emails.<br /><br />At the 2005 25HP bigfoot motor:<br />It has have a 8-pin connector & a 4-pin connector. It also has 2 pink wires, one with a black tracer & one with a white tracer. The 8-pin connector matches the remote control cable.<br /><br />The remote control cable has an 8-pin connector for the motor, & 4 loose wires on the motor end. A light brown wire, a dark Brown wire with white tracer, a Blue wire with white tracer, a Green wire with white tracer.<br /> <br />On the control box the cable goes in the box for the Tilt, Throttle, Ignition, On/off, Choke, & Shift is built in the handle.<br /><br />Coming out of the box is a 6" cable that has a 5-pin connector on it & 4- extra loose wires. <br />A light brown wire, a Red wire, a Blue wire with white tracer, a Green wire with white tracer.<br /><br />Can anyone help or have a phone number or email adress for someone or someplace to get help.<br /><br />Are all outboard motor manufacturers & dealers like this?<br /><br />Red<br /><br />________________________________________________<br />I still don't know all that I don't know, but I am gaining on knowing what I don't know.

Ok no answer.<br /><br />Does anyone know were I can email or an 800 number that I use to get the wiring diagram for the new Quicksilver 4000 that was left out of my purchased box.<br /><br />You would think that for $250.00 they could give you a wiring diagram so you can connect it correctly.<br /><br />Thanks,
