Hey Guys!

My name is Paul.... I just bought a new boat (well new to me) 2000 Doral 190 with a Fuel Injected 225HP Merc at the end of last summer! I was only able to use it a few times and than got it winterized! Enjoying winter but ready for summer! Thought I would share some pics....just can't figure out how to put them in the post....any thoughts...

Use photobucket. If you use the search function on the site you will find some help on this. I look forward to seeing some photos. Congratulations on your boat. Please keep posting all your experiences with it (good and bad)

Ya the front seat is really cool, it lifts up and then you can store the anchor. Although it is a bit tight, Doral, could make some improvements to fit a bigger one.

Yes...no skis yet, but we have a wakeboard and tube! I'd like to try water skiing this year.

I did take the boat out at the end of last summer and the motor was very smooth. The local Doral dealer says they only sell Doral?s with a Volvo engine, but I'm sure the merc will be fine. It had a top end of about 55 +/- w/chop. I did notice that I was able to cruise at 30 around 2,000-2,500 rpms.... (think trim has some play in that?haven?t quite figured it out yet) sounds really good to me if its true. Gas is getting expensive. Not bad for a 4.3 merc! Any thoughts? I guess if a boat can go almost 60 and cruise about 30 with no problem...should not use all that much gas (unless your pulling a tube or wake boarder...lol) What's a good cruise speed for my boat?

Have a good one guys and thanks for checking out the pics. I did notice the carpet could use a good shampoo...I'll do that this season. Thankfully the carpet snaps out! I love that verses the old wood floors that rot and hold water!

Not sure about an inboard but a rule of thumb with outboards is 10 percent of the HP in gallons at WOT. So using that rule with my boat,
14 gallons per hour at W.O.T. which is around 6,000 rpm and 50 MPH
About 5 gallons per hour at 2,500 rpm and 25 mph.
Overall though if you calculate mpg then it is about the same whatever speed you go. It is not like a car that is rolling along, you are constantly pushing water out of the way as you go through it.

Hi,

Well the bay is still frozen shut! I'm hoping a few weeks into May I should be good to go! Very excited. Currently I'm trying to find a gps that I can use both in car and boat. Hard to find them and not spend to much money!

What about you? When does your boat go in?

Cheap one of both is what we use. Lowrance H2O colour screen ($200) 2 years ago from Bass Pro shops. TomTom for the car ($150) last October from The Source (internet only deal)
Love them both for what we use them for and I take the Lowrance with me on my business trips overseas.

Hope to go into the dock mid April after my upcoming trip to Korea but most likely end of April before I get the boat ready to go !!!!

Welcome to I Boats;

The pictures and the Boat look Great. You should have a lot of fun with the boat. I have a 4.3 and it does pretty good on Gas unless you run it WOT a lot. We can run on plane, do some fishing and some riding about three weeks on 25 Gallons of gasoline. I too like the idea of the Anchor Locker. Does it have the Bow ladder to? Have fun. We are still in Hibernation until the 19th of April. Well Splash the 20th of May. Northern Michigan still has about two feet of snow and Ice. It was ten below zero here yesterday (Tue) morning.

Good call on the two cheap gps units. Might be easier to find. I know right now finding a cross over is very hard only found 2 that might work Lowrance iway 600c has pre installed street and marine maps for about 350 and magellan crossover 2500 T no marine maps unit is 350, plus maps another 100...lol

Where are you from? April is very early! lol

No bow ladder in the front! Would be nice to have though. Shelburne Bay on lake champlain is frozen shut! lol...Warm weather though looks thin...

Here is a website I found to look at the lake while I'm bored at work, U guys might like it! Far left point is the opening to shelburne bay..thats where I launch! Website refreshes every 15 mins.
