I have just purchased a 1989 Vision with the 2.3 L I/O. The blower doesn't seem to work properly - any big deal with this? I've heard that it's really important - can anyone point me to a replacement blower?

Also, speedo does not seem to work - if I have voltage at the meter, should any old replacement work just fine? Tips?

Finally, the interior naugahyde!!! is pretty bad and I'd like a tip or two about what some of you folks have done to upgrade. Thanks!!!

Re: New Boat Blower and Speedometer???

You need the blower, it keeps your boat from blowing up!! Latent gas fumes under the cowl can explode if you start the motor without running the blower first. Fix that ASAP.

If your speedo is not working but has voltage check the small inlet hole in the front of your outdrive. This measure water pressure which is converted to speed. If that hole is clogged or if the hose is not connected inside of the outdrive your guage won't register.

Sorry can't help you on the interior other than to say new seats are always nice.
