Hey guys I just traded my motorcycle for this boat last month. After only putting 100 ish miles on the bike all year I decided to see if someone would trade and next day the deal was done. I've taken the boat to the lake 3 times since I got it 4 weeks ago and absolutely love it. Tubed for the first time last Saturday.

This is what I got with the trade
The boat with escort trailer
Almost new Tube and new rope
Anchor
8 life vests (2 flew out on my first trip to the lake! Had them under the seat and the seat came up enough for the vest to fly out. I have a bar that holds the seat down now)
Oars
Earmuffs
all manuals including suppliment and trailer
Spare trailer tire

Last week I bought a Lowrance depth/fish finder and installed it. Depth seems to be accurate but the it seems to have interference on the screen a lot even when I'm not moving. I'll have to look into that

I put trailer guides with the pvc post on and used it for the first time last Saturday and seems to work very well on retrieving the boat.

Last new thing I bought was a Bimini top. Love that.

So far the only newbie thing I've done was bent my prop on Saturday right when we got to the lake. I put it back on the trailer and went to a shop and they put a new one on in 15 minutes. My friend says he carries a spare with tools and I'm gonna do the same later.

Perfect fit in my 3rd garage too

Boat seems to be in great shape. I buffed it out when I got it, gel coat is good

Congrats!

Just a suggestion, take it for what its worth, those trailer fenders look shot to the point where debris could be hitting your nicely buffed hull. If it were me, I'd look into replacing them before my next road trip.

Looks like a nice first boat. Make sure your truck lug wrench fits your trailer lugs. Many times the lugs on the trailer rims are bigger. I learned that the hard way several years ago. I carry a breaker bar with an air socket now.

Good advice, I hadn't thought about that. My boat and bike are both new to me this year. :D

I always bring a piece of wood to go under the jack in the event you need to change a blowout somewhere soft. Maybe grease the zerks on the face and the hidden ones on the rear of the axles. I've got a hundred tid bits after towing as much as I have over the years.

By all means a spare prop, prop nut, they make plastic that float and are a good idea.

A jump box is also something you should have for sure.

I always carry an extra full hub and trust washer along with the spare prop plus some shaft lubrication and an allen wrench. I actually carry one prop for unfamiliar waters and one for deeper lakes and take 5 minutes and switch them as appropriate.

I saw the ones for sale here but the 14" tire sized one doesn't seem to have the cutouts for the lights. Looks like only the 13" tire ones. Maybe I'll call today but yes im definitely gonna replace it soon.

Nice boat Biggredd. I'm trying to get in as much as I can before it gets too cold too. Fortunately weather still looking good for now. High 70's this weekend. Gonna go Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Yeah I'm gonna get a spare prop and tools go change it. I was thinking of buying a 14 or 14.25x19p 4 blade and using my 14.25x21p as a spare. I currently max at 4300 rpm so I'm thinking that would bump it up to 4500 or so.
Thanks

Psstt...The fenders are plastic. Very easy to cut. Drill (4) holes - (1) in each corner of the opening you need, and then play connect the dots with a utility knife, roto-zip, etc.

If you have an X-acto knife, flip the blade upside down (ie - don't use the sharp part of the blade but instead use the dull side). You'll score the plastic and it'll give a nicer finish.

You can cut out a section of the smashed fender to use as a template for your lights on the new fenders. :D

Sounds good, thanks for the tip. I might just do that.

Great boat! I traded a motorcycle for my boat 10 years ago. Sold and bought back, but that is how I got her in the 1st place.
