New boat owner oil question

Hi folks. I just bought a 1972 Silverline Comoro 16T with the same vintage mercury 800 80hp outboard. I bought some oil tonight to use this coming weekend. I bought quicksilver synthetic blend which I now don't even see on the quicksilver site. Should I return the synthetic blend or will it be fine to run in the '72 mercury at a 50:1 mix ratio? Its just fine for it....But I just don't like 50 ta 1 in any of 'em. Usually get a little disagreement with this. But ya can't over oil it unless ya try real hard. Under oil it one time and ya really won't like tha results.......Always ran 40 ta 1 in any production motor..............jmo
