i just bought a 1996 javlen bass boat thats been sitting for 3or 4 years what do i need to check for

Impeller, empty gas tank, lower unit oil, plugs, clean carbs....

I always like to take out the spark plugs and spray some lube into the cylinders before 1st startup cause I worry that they are dry after years of sitting.

If the gas smells like turpentine thats a bummer.

you want fresh gas and new clean 2 stroke injection oil, new batteries (they die at the worst times), Clean carbs, new fuel lines and primer bulb, make sure nav lights work, check and grease steering cable.
