Hi all, I am considering purchasing a 18-19' Bowrider and have pretty much narrowed down the choices to the Glastron GX185. My question is that on pricing the dealers her in the Mass/NH area offer 12% discount off the MSRP of around $22,000. I would like to get somewhere around a 15-18% discount on this Glastron. Am I dreaming??? I know Glastron is not a high end boat. I would say it is somewheres in the middle. Any help on what a fair price for this boat should/could be would be appreciated. thanks

Re: New Boat Pricing

I'd check out Route6marine.com in Hingham, Mass. They carry Glastrons but I'm not sure what the price will be, they had a small boat show here in Rhode Island about a month ago and the prices were very excellent.

Shop all the dealers that carry the brand you want and see who will give the lowest price. I had 4 dealers compete for my business and paid want I wanted to (fair price) for the boat. You will eventully find the rock bottom price from all the dealers soon enough.

I live in Virginia Beach and notice when I travel North that prices on boats are a lot higher. Living on the water dealers are in competition. You may want to consider looking on the net for coastal dealers and calling them. Tell them what you are willing to spend and settle on a price before driving down to pick up your boat.

I honestly think prices are better farther south.

If you are going to shop for the lowest rock-bottom price both inside and outside your area just remember one thing: don't burn any bridges with your local dealer since they will most likely be the ones you go to when you need service. Many people forget this and get a slightly cheaper price on their boat upfront but have to drive it 6 towns over to get any service work done. Good luck on the purchase and happy boating!

Admin5
