new boat

Looking to purchase a boat that is good in either salt or fresh water. I have heard that some I/O are not good in saltwater. any truth to that? Currently have my eye on a 2004 Stingray. thanks!

I run an Mercruiser I/O that is docked in saltwater the entire summer. Besides for some growth on the part of the outdrive that doesn't completely leave the water when up, I've never had any salt water related problems with it. Just make sure that the sacrificial zincs are still good.<br />And Welcome to IBoats!
