New Boater - Need Help?!!!

We just bought a beat up flat bottom boat, and we are excited! We need some help in finding out what year and mix for this Johnson 9.9. The model# is 10R75C, and the Serial# is E4183824. It states operating range 4500 to 5500 RPM's....can we get it to go faster? Ha Thanks so much! We have never owned a boat before, so forgive the naiveness!! Please help!

Your engine is a 1975, Kufflers.<br /><br />Do not try to operate it at over 5500rpm unless you want to break it.<br /><br />You can learn more about boating and outboards by browsing this site than most boaters ever know.<br /><br />Welcome aboard, and keep posting to let us know how you are doing. . . plus ask anything you want to know.

50:1 is correct mixture. 2.65 ounces oil per gallon of fuel or 1 pint per 6 Gallons of gas...
