Flathead, I know that You know your biz about H-Ds, but I had to find that out by your post in the "unusual/classic vehicles" post, and because of that, I am willing to concede that your info is better than my info. I never claimed to be right, and I am glad I know better now about the Evo motor. The point of my last post was that we could have probably saved ourselves all of this fuss if you had just qualified your info with your obviously extended experience with H-Ds, which far exceeds my own experience. Its all good because now I know who to ask H-D questions when I step up and get one.

I might be thinking about the Revolution motor, who knows, and you could never bore me with details on the Evo motor. I have such a deep seated neurotic gear-head problem that you could probably post a long disertation on a weed-whacker engine and I would read it.

Peace, man. The fact that you ride H-Ds, and have built Indians and Harleys puts you at the top of my list. I have a good friend that has a Harley, I am not sure of the year, but I know its one of the older ones, built in the early 70s, maybe late 60s. Pan Head sound about right? Big ol' thing...

ahhh- the Harley Davidson Evolution powertrain was developed excusivly internal to Harley--believe me, no outside help. No Ford, No Honda, No Porch--
I kind know cause I am a Harley employee. In Product Development.

LOL Pat I was wondering when you would chime in on this topic. ;) I do know ( or thought I knew) that Harley had consulted Porshe in the mid 70's. They worked with the Porshe development center At the very inception of the evo Motor to help solve "some" problems. I believe the name of the development center was wiessage (sp) Though Porshe's involvement was minor and was closely done with the HD techs. ??? Does this check out?? I am really interested to find out if this a fact.

By the way the gear driven 510's are in the TC along with true duals, adjustable push rods and S+S super E. That thing is really alive now. Just couldn't do the big bore on this bike  ,,, well maybe next year :D

a negative on the Porshe Flathead. The Revo has Porshe involvement. Not the Evo though.

Your valve train and air flow work sound real good. I guaranty you will like the 1550 big bore.

Did you do anything with the sparks? If you check biker rag reviews for example--and I should probably not endorse anything (exception, 1550)--the Screaming Eagle stuff is real good.

Pat thanks for the info. You can learn something new everyday thats for sure. :) Did not mess with the spark as of yet. I am waiting on warmer weather to get the thing dialed in just right, then it may be time to play with the module :D

Well Pat Campbell, I stand corrected.

The info I got about Ford being involved in the EVO came from the TV show "Corbins Ride On".

But I would have to go with your info, as you work there at H-D, and you then should know.

Thanks for clearing that up.
