Have an aristocraft nineteen. Going to have to replace the wood soon. The only wood is what covers the ski locker, about 12" wide and 12' long. At the same time I will pull up the rest of the carpet that is just glued to fiberglass. I am wondering if anyone has any experience using a roll on type bed liner material in place of carpet or if it is best to just glue down new carpet.

Mostly use the boat on lake Erie, so anyone who has fished lake Erie knows how rough it gets and how wet the inside of the boat can get. Thinking the roll on bed liner would offer better wet traction.

Not sure what year your boat is, or how it was constructed, but that may not be the only wood you have that isn't what it used to be. What about your transom and stringers?

But I'm with you on eliminating carpet in a boat of that size.

All fiberglass, no wood stringers in the nineteens, and I've heard conflicting reports of wood in the transom, if it is there my transom is rock solid still so I'm not worried.

Any recommendations on products to use in place of carpet?
