New control 1995 motor.

I am going to order a new side mount control. My boat is a 1995 Lowe 160 side console.

Can someone help me make sure I order the correct control and correct adapter harness. I also would like to order the correct system check gauge.

I want the Brp control but I am open to an aftermarket adapter harness and gauge. I would like to do this as economical as possible.

Also will I need new control cables?

The control boxes were all the same for many, many years, up through 1995. These were known as the "red plug" control boxes, as they had a red canon plug on the engine end. These boxes continued to be made for a few years after 1995, but looks like they are now discontinued. Today, Bombardier would have you buy the latest control box (p/n 5006180) and an then add some conversion adapter harness to convert to the red plug on your engine. This control box is the typical box which mounts to the side of the gunnel. Not the conceal mount. Adapter harness 176709 (for 1991-1995 engines) This harness supports System Check. When you get ready to order this, see your Bombardier dealer and the'll fix you up with everything.

That's what I figured out. I'm going to order the box and was wondering what was the difference between the Brp adapter harness and the Cdi harness.

Also I needed to know if my existing control cables will work or do I need to order new ones.

Looks like Bombardier has discontinued the 176709 adapter harness. It looks a lot like the 176349 that you've come up with. Looks like the 349 is the superceded p/n.
