Re: new dash

Forget about silkscreening. Even if you find one willing to do the job, it won't be cost effective.
Find a local sign shop who's willing to sit down and help you design a panel. A good one will give you some ideas you might not think about.

Here's a panel I did a few years ago. I had the original aluminum dash panel powdercoated white. The sign shop did an overlay with all the switch labels, created the Wellcraft logo from a template they had on file, and even came up with the snazzy blue 3D model logo.
Total cost from the sign shop- 90 bucks. I was happy with the results and thought it was a great deal.

Re: new dash

I dont mean to hijack the thread and sorry. i was considering changing mine myself. the only problem i am facing with is how will i get the labels for the switches. i dont want to use stick on labels you can get from anywhere but rather get it painted on. i was thinking of making up a sencil but cutting that out in nice block letters will be tough and it wont look good as the edges could be rough.
any idea's of how i can do it since i am not a good artist to do this free hand.

yes seen here (http://www.iboats.com/Boat-Parts-Ac...070020--keywords.labels--**********.202104662)
but i dont like these one's. see in my boat (picture below) you can see that it's as if paited on rather than it being a sticker. i hate how its a sticker and there is that background behind the letters..i wish they were on clear background so that just the letters appear and the background will be what ever you dash is.

A sign shop can make them any way you want, it can be letters only with no background, or a complete new surface with letters, logo's and any color combination, just depends on how much you want to spend.

I hate to disagree, they can do any size flat, or custom curves if you so desire... Painted AND silkscreened... they do anodized, and plexi...

http://www.frontpanelexpress.com/

Not sure how effective or lasting in a boat, but with their pricing it might be worth a try... I am planning on doing a new dash out of FG to move my GPS into the dash as opposed to on top of it! IF FG doesn't work out for me, I will be using these guys...
