Here are some pics of my deck replacement. From rotten wood to new 1/2' marine plywood.

A few more pics...

The deck is screwed down to the stringers with stainless screws and is bonded to the hull with a fillet of thickened West System epoxy and the first layer of fiberglass cloth.

Re: New deck installation

The stringers were in good shape. They were fiberglass with a strip of aluminum bedded in to the top. I just had to sand them down to a flat mating surface.

Re: New deck installation

This Lone Star model had no wood and no foam in or around the stringers. The channels are molded fiberglass which are hollow. They advertised it as the "Air Pack" system. The stringers have a cutout section where they meet the transom to allow water to drain through the sections on its way to the bilge.

This is a great design and one of the reasons why I like the Lone Stars, no wood to rot and no foam to get soaked under the sole. It's a very well built little boat.
