Ok, so I finally get my new driveshaft in for my 73 evinrude 40Hp. It looks identical only its 3/4" to short.
When the motor is upside down everything works perfect but when its flipped up right the drive shaft is dropping out of the crank.
Any Evinrude guys out there that would know what year a 28" driveshaft would of come out of?
The model number says its a 1973, but I know it has a 74+ head on it.
Or any help ideas? The place I ordered it from was great about it and refunded me my money but said they do not have the proper driveshaft.
Maybe welding an extension?
