New engine dieseling

20 hours on my brand new GM crate longblock and it's dieseling badly. When I shut it off today after warming the oil for the first oil change, I watched it with my own eyes run on for a good 5 seconds and flip backwards and forwards on it's last breaths. Scaring me here.

What gives?

Are you sure the timing is set correctly? Make sure the idle rpm is below 700, or it will diesel.

That sounds more plausible than anything. The idle is indeed a little high on it. I'll adjust and see what happens..
