would you be able to unbolt the outbaoard part of an omc sea-drive and replace it with a similar outboard engine (keeping the tilt/trim and sea-drive mounting?

Yep. The powerheads are pretty much the same as any like Johnny/Rude. What year and size do you have? I have a pair of 1987 1.6L and have had both rebuilt in the 12 years I have had this rig. I have had zero problems with the SeaDrives.

you can swapp midsections also if you want, but its EASIER and quicker to just swapp powerheads.<br /><br />i have a 1991 225 v6 sea drive. id personally rather have a standard midsection with a 30" outboard bracket like those from gil or stainless
