Welcome to iboats. Well your best bet right off would be to get a service manual before you do anything, that way you will definitely not run into any surprises. But the carbs and waterpump are pretty straight forward and easy, provided you don't have any seized bolts on the lower unit.

The manual is a must, with ANY engine.

THe only thing that is a bit tricky is getting the thermostats out. It's allot easier if you drop the lower cowl pan.

I am on the hunt for a manual as we speak.
I did a compression test before buying this motor it was 110 105 109 109
what about all the stories I hear about unhooking the oil injection?
what’s the opinion of you guys on that?
