I am in the process of putting a new floor in a 19 ft v-hull and this is my first. I was wondering if I should paint the bottom of my wood before putting it down. I didn't use marine ply but went with 3/4 pressure treated instead. Budget. I noticed that the old floor had rotted from the bottom when I took it up so I got to thinking I should paint both sides. Just figured I would get some advice before proceeding. Thanks!

Is the craft fiberglass or aluminum-------pressure treated is a BIG NO-NO in aluminum boats.

regular exterior plywood coated w/ epoxy on both sides is what I always use.

good luck

I ued regular ply too and just coated it with cheap resin works great if not then condensation will bild and rot it just as fast as if it was open to water.

It's fiberglass. An Angler cuddy cabin. My plan is to glue and screw the floor down using stainless screws and construction adhesive. Will the adhesive stick if I use resin?

Did you core sample the Stingers to ensure they were ok before you put down the new deck?

If you mean make sure the wood in the stringers was good, I did. The only bad spots in the stringers I found was in the cross braces. The stringers that run length wise seemed to be O.K. The Gas tank sits in the middle of the floor and has a access panel over it and the floor had rotted around that. The cross braces behind and in front of the tank had also rotted so I replaced them as well.

If you're using Loctite premium, and leaving the screws in, it will hold. The premium is waterproof and would be the best bet for adhesive..

Using an epoxy resin as glue and removing the screws after it sets would work also...then finish as planned.
