Greetings to all,
New to boats so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I have a Fjord 21 DC and I will remake the flooring completely with "hatches" that can be opened to store things etc. I am planning to use plywood that is covered in fiberglass but I guess maybe there are other better options?

Main question is this - When rain hits and water starts to fill up in the boat there needs to be some kind of drainage that takes the water outside. But what if those holes get clogged with leafs and debris flying in the wind?
Then Houston we have a problem...
Current floor is above waterline.
I will be using bilge pump for the water that may be collected via leaks etc at the bottom of the hull. But it just now struck me if I plaster in everything on deck water will have problems escaping if the wholes gets clogged - how to solve?

your in-floor hatches will be below the water line you will have to build them like you build livewells and have a pump for each one. to keep your deck self bailing, you will need to make the hatches water-tight.

I dont know your particular boat, however most boats do not have a lot of room under the deck to accomodate storage lockers unless they were designed for it.
