NEW GM 5.7 MOTOR SERVICE MANUAL

HELLO, so i purchased a new 1996-2000 5.7 vortec motor ,old motor was 1988 merc 5.0lx motor,trying to get service manual for this motor,would anybody know what issue service manual i can refer to ,even for the simplest things like spark plug gap and timing and timing curves ,old motor .035,new motor i think .045 ,but not sure ,so what manual can i safely use for new crate motors .Everything exterior on old motor is is matching up to new motor serial number 10243880 thank you

Kind of need to know what configuration. What makes a 96-2000 motor is carb, MPI, accessories, ignition.

edelbrock 1409 carb / edelbrock performer manifold ,delco est distributor ,alpha 1 gen 1 sei 106 150;1, what other info would be needed ,boat is 1988 thompson 240 hard top

Merc motor manual isn't going to help you much. Edelbrock makes a great carb adjustment manual, same with the Delco EST manual that cam e with the disty - you need to keep both in a binder. You do need the Manual #6 for your drive.

You motor would use #17. I see it for $87 at http://outdriveshop.com/mercruisermanuals.html

You could also use #24. For basic info they will be nearly duplicated.
