hey guys i am new here i have been looking for a good boating forum this one seems right. i have a current problem with my 1996 ocean pro 175. i took it off my bay boat and put it on my new at the time sun dancer 240d-legend tritoon. so here is my problems. when starting for the first time after about a week of sitting i have to take the covers off the carbs cover one with my hand and get her to pop. this is even with new plugs( gapped correct) compression is around 110 across the board. has a new powerpack and carbs are clean. also. i am needing to re prop her now that my pontoon is larger. i currently have an aluminum 3 black 14.25x21 i am looking into another 3 blade solas aluminum in a 14.8x17 or 19 my current full throttle rpm is 4800 with a good load from 6-10 people and 35 gallons of fuel. with her empty and just me i can get to the 5000 rpm mark so i was thinking the 19 might fit me better. let me know what you guys think.

Go with the 19 pitch and check your wiring as it sounds as if primer/choke is not working on engine.....

Welcome, going to a 19 ,same brand same model will increase rpm "about" 400.
It would seem for some reason your primer isn't working.I think most motors have a manual prime lever.

Since you are a 'new guy' it is only fair to give a little friendly advice. When you ask a question, think it through, maybe even write it out before you post. Ask only one question in a post and make sure you give all the information you have which is pertinant to the problem. Look at the possiblem forums and post it where it best fits. The moderators will move it if it seems you will get better responces to your problem.
Have fun and I hope you got answers which will help you.
Check your choke mechanism, did it get wired up correctly when you did the engine swap?
I too would try the 19" prop, it would seem to best match your needs.

Prop selection is allways an educated guess with the minimul info we have it is best to try to stick with the same brand and material if possible.
