Wealth of knowledgable folks on this board...
Got a 1991 Evinrude 48 Special.
I have already purchased a new fuel tank and line and ran some seafoam thru it. I have also did all the throttle linkage adjustments suggested in Clymers.
The motor will fire then die almost immediately, faster if I throttle it up. Have not adjusted or rebuilt the carbs yet. The motor has sat for a while. Any other options before I rebuild the carbs and the fuel pump?
The motor never really idled great to begin with. One other question: there is a red valve on the starboard side that will spit some fuel out at start up. I am assuming that is the fuel primer solenoid?
Thoughts??
Thanks in advance.
