New ignition switch: magneto-type, does it matter?

I found the perfect replacement switch for my 1969 55HP chrysler, except I hesitate to buy it because its marked as magneto type and my outboard is not.

Just in case anyone wonders, it doesn't matter. In fact the old switch had a magneto terminal on it also, you just don't hook it up.

If your 55 is the newer type with Prestolite or Magna-Power ignition, the "M" terminals are used for the stop circuit just like on Force engines.

Your 1969 should be neither but should be battery ignition with alternator. In your case, you simply do not use the two "M" terminals.

The cowl says "Magnapower" so I assume it is one of those, I only hooked up that other M terminal (there were two) that was labeled as for IGN (basicially following how the old one was wired). I had hoped looking up the model number (5591) might shed light on ignition type, but for now I'm just guessing
