I replaced the raw impeller in my alpha one gen one sea sprite because last year it failed. After replacing impeller I get no water. Im on ears on a hose. Thought maybe I had it in backwards so took it apart to flip it around and ran a hose through the lines to make sure no blockage. Put back together still no flow at idle, if i rev it i get some but not much. Yes the key is in the shaft. I've replaced these before and never had a problem. What am I missing? Also in the process of running it trying to figure it out this boot blew open. Searched every eay I can think to find one and just keep finding the one between the transom and drive. Help with that would be appreciated as well.

exhaust running without water flow will always burn or melt the rubber hoses.

your flapper is probably burnt too

did you back-flush the cooling system when you replaced the raw water impeller?

the power steering cooler is the first "strainer" in the system after the impeller.

If i disconnect the line coming in and shove the garden hose directly down it no problems. But I'm not even getting water directly from the fitting right out of the transom on the inside. Before it goes into anymore hoses at all.

Disconnect the hose from the thermostat housing that comes from the transom. Hook up and turn on water to the muffs. Fire up the motor for a minute or two and see what kind of flow you get. Motor will be fine for a couple minutes and you get to see if the problem is the impeller, the lines or something at thermostat.

So have you back-flushed?

You have a blockage, or an issue with your recent impeller
