i putting in a new impeller in my mercruiser mr1 outdrive because my boat guy put the one in there now in the wrong direction. deteriated very quickly. when i install my new one should i put in dry or lubricate it with something/ thanks ken
You cant put them in in the wrong direction.They straighten out on their own.
If it wore out too soon maybe your not getting it enough water on start up.The flushetts or muffs need to be on correctly.With LOTS of water for EVERY time the motor is turned over.Even 2 seconds running without water can ruin an impeller.Jerry

when i took out water pump housing and flipped it over to look at impeller the blades were all in oppisite direction of my original one. if i turn the impeller inside of cup it will not switch directions of impeller blades? so i figured they were installed wrong
