In other words, disconnect the red wire coming from the rectifier and extend it to the gen side of meter. Another wire from the bat side of meter goes to where you disconncted the first wire.
That will show a charging situation, but does not factor in the discharge from accessories. If you want to do it right, all accessories must have their "hot" wire connected to the Gen terminal on the ammeter, along with the rectifier lead. The Bat side should go directly to the battery cable and of sufficient wire size for the load. Doing it this way, the ammeter will give a true reading of the net charge/discharge.
